Has anyone checked out the rock displays north of Great Lakes 360, just down from the Niagara Aquarium? They’ve got these massive piles of excavated gorge stone—Whirlpool Sandstone, Lockport Dolostone, and Grimsby Sandstone. There are a few unlabeled piles too, though they look like more of the same.
It makes me wonder: with such a rich geological history in the Niagara Escarpment, why stop at just those three? I'd love to see a complete 'stratigraphy' of the gorge represented there!
